Descrizione:ABT-751 is a novel, potent, and selective inhibitor of autophagy. It has been shown to induce mitochondrial membrane depolarization and autophagy in HL-60 cells. The drug has also been shown to be effective against cancer cells in vitro, with significant cytotoxicity. In a mouse tumor model, the drug inhibited tumor growth without affecting normal tissues. ABT-751 has also been shown to decrease the levels of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in renal cell cancer cells. The drug is currently undergoing clinical trials for the treatment of cancer patients who are on active antiretroviral therapy and for patients with tumors that are resistant to standard chemotherapy treatments.END>
