Descrizione:Transcrocetinate disodium is a potential anticancer agent that has been shown to inhibit the activity of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in vitro. It also inhibits DNA synthesis and mitochondrial function, leading to neuronal death. Transcrocetinate disodium may be used as an experimental model for radiation-induced myocardial infarcts in rats. This drug also has a number of physiological effects, including inhibition of platelet aggregation and vasoconstriction. It is not known whether transcrocetinate disodium alters crocin levels or crocetin production in vivo.
