Descrizione:2-Phenylfuran is a phenyl derivative that is used as a photosensitizer for cationic polymerization. It can be synthesized by reacting biphenyl with chlorine, giving 2-chlorobiphenyl and 2-phenylfuran. The luminescence properties of 2-phenylfuran have been studied using nmr spectroscopy and photophysical simulations. This molecule has been shown to be an acceptor in the reaction with diazonium salt and to react with chloride ions to form a series of approximations. 2-Phenylfuran also has UV absorption properties, which are responsible for its fluorescence emission in the visible range.
