Descrizione:Methyl (phenylthio)acetate is a molecule that reversibly reacts with triflic acid to form methyl (phenylthio)trifluoromethanesulfonate and hydrogen cyanide. It can be synthesized by the reaction of an ethyl group with an aldehyde and amine. The molecule has been used in the synthesis of radioisotopes, organic and inorganic compounds, as well as for the preparation of acetonitrile. Methyl (phenylthio)acetate is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of sulfoxides.
