Descrizione:2-(Trimethylsilyloxy)ethyl Methacrylate is a monomer that is used as a cross-linker and an initiator for the polymerization of ethyl methacrylate. It can also be used to produce coatings, in magnetic resonance imaging, and as a model system for reactive sulfamoyl chloride. 2-(Trimethylsilyloxy)ethyl Methacrylate reacts with hydroxyl groups to form an ester linkage, which is hydrolyzed by water. This reaction may be used to measure the concentration of hydroxyl groups in a sample by using gravimetric analysis. 2-(Trimethylsilyloxy)ethyl Methacrylate will react with nucleophiles like chloride or sulfamoyl chloride to form acrylamide or methacrylic acid respectively.
