Descrizione:
MeBIO is a potent small molecule that selectively inhibits cancer stem cells and can be used to treat squamous cell carcinoma. It is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound with a hydroxyl group at the 2 position and a high affinity for DNA. MeBIO has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of hematopoietic cells, pluripotent cells, and muscle cells and induce apoptosis in murine xenografts. It also reduces brain infarct volume in mice with experimental stroke. MeBIO has been shown to have low toxicity in vivo and can be used as an anticancer drug without side effects.
