Calcium Dobesilate Hydrate is a calcium salt of dobesilate that is used as a pharmaceutical preparation for the treatment of diabetic patients with retinal disease. It can be used as an alternative to other pharmacological agents, such as magnesium, which have been shown to be effective in improving retinal tissue structure. Calcium Dobesilate Hydrate has also been shown to inhibit growth factor production by human fibroblasts and to prevent oxidation products from forming in animal tissues. The mechanism behind these effects is not yet known. In addition, this drug has a high viscosity and may cause adverse reactions when injected into the body.
