Imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-8-amine is a molecule that has been shown to be an inhibitor of protein kinase activity. It blocks the adenosine A3 receptor and is therefore a possible drug target for cancer. Imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-8-amine is an antimicrobial resistance determinant and has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth in vitro by binding to the adenosine A3 receptor. This molecule also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNFα and IL6 in human cells. Imidazo[1,2-a]pyrazin-8-amine may be useful for treating chronic inflammation, cancer, or both.
