Descrizione:2,8-Dimethylanthradithiophene is a crystalline compound with the formula CHS. It can be viewed as an isomer of anthradithiophene. When heated, it undergoes isomerization to 1,2-dimethylanthraquinone. The conversion of 2,8-dimethylanthradithiophene to 1,2-dimethylanthraquinone has been studied by electrochemical and thermogravimetric methods. The compound is also known to act as a transistor and has been found useful in the fabrication of electrochemical cells. It has an absorption maximum at 360 nm in the ultraviolet-visible region. The x-ray diffraction pattern indicates that the crystal structure consists of chains running parallel to the c axis.
