4-Bromo-1-methyl-5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-1H-pyrazole is a cytotoxic compound that belongs to the class of imidazoles. It has antiviral activity against some viruses such as herpes simplex virus and human immunodeficiency virus. 4-Bromo-1-methyl pyrazole is also an intermediate in the synthesis of anticancer drugs. This compound is functionalized with a pyrrazole group at C4 and is used for the synthesis of 2-[(4'-bromoimidazolinyl)methyl]pyridines.
