Tegoprazan is an anti-gastric acid drug that is a proton pump inhibitor. It inhibits the production of gastric acid by inhibiting the H+, K+-ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in the gastric mucosa cells. Tegoprazan has dose-dependent effects and can be used for long-term treatment of diseases such as peptic ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Tegoprazan does not show any serious side effects, but it may cause some adverse reactions, such as drug reactions or increased risk for developing stomach cancer. Tegoprazan also has antiplatelet properties and can be used to prevent blood clot formation in patients after coronary artery bypass grafting surgery.
