Descrizione:AZD-8529 is a potentiating agent of metabotropic glutamate receptors. It is a mesylate prodrug that is converted to the active form, AZD-8529-mesylate, in vivo. The conversion is catalyzed by esterases and glucuronidases. AZD-8529 has been shown to be safe and well tolerated in patients with schizophrenia who were treated for 4 weeks with a daily dose of 600 mg or 900 mg. It also has a potentiating effect on metabotropic glutamate receptors, which may lead to increased signaling of these receptors in the brain. This may lead to improved cognition and mental health in patients with schizophrenia or other mental disorders.
