Trans-4-ethylcyclohexanol binds to fatty acids and peptides in the blood, which are then removed from the circulation by the liver. Trans-4-ethylcyclohexanol has also been shown to increase levels of alpha-tocopherol, which may be due to its ability to inhibit α -hydroxylase activity.
