Ganoderic acid Z is a secondary metabolite from plants that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It is used as a reference material for HPLC, NIR, and analytical purposes. Ganoderic acid Z can be isolated from the roots of Ganoderma lucidum or synthesized in a laboratory. This compound is a white solid that can be dissolved in DMSO, ethanol, acetone, or methanol. Ganoderic acid Z has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β. It also inhibits NF-κB activation by preventing phosphorylation of IKKβ, which plays an important role in inflammation signaling pathways. These mechanisms may lead to the prevention of colon cancer.
