Ravenine is a phenolic acid that is found in the bark of plants such as the black locust and ginkgo tree. It has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, which have been linked to its ability to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. This compound has also been shown to inhibit lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated raw264.7 cells, casein, muscle diseases in animals and humans, and carcinoma cells in animals.
