3-hydroxy-N-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-propenamide is a molecule that belongs to the family of drugs known as phenyltropanes. It is an analog of cocaine and has been shown to inhibit protein kinase activity in vitro. 3-hydroxy-N-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-propenamide binds to the target enzyme, preventing the formation of a complex with ATP that is required for phosphorylation and activation. This drug has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth by blocking mitogen activated protein kinases (MAPKs). The serum levels of this drug have been found to be higher in women than in men. A study showed that 3-hydroxy-N-[4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-propenamide was not carcinogenic in mice.
