5-Ethyl-3-methyllumiflavinium perchlorate (5EMLP) is a flavin that can be synthesized from 5-ethyl-3,7-dimethylxanthone and hydrogenated allylamine. It has been shown to have activity as an oxidase inhibitor and monoamine oxidase inhibitor. 5EMLP has also been shown to act as a cofactor for enzyme reactions in photosynthesis, including the production of sulfoxides and hydrogen peroxide.
