Gossypetin-8-glucuronide is a natural compound that has antioxidative properties and is used in the treatment of various metabolic disorders. It has been shown to have hepatoprotective effects, including reduction of liver lesions and hepatic steatosis. Gossypetin-8-glucuronide has also been shown to have pro-apoptotic properties by inhibiting the production of pro-apoptotic proteins, such as cytochrome c, which leads to cell death. Gossypetin-8-glucuronide can be synthesized from gossypol (a natural plant product) and glucuronic acid with the help of an enzyme called glucuronidase. The synthesis can be monitored using surface methodology and titration calorimetry.
