Descrizione

Milldurone is a prenyl derivative that has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the translation of chalcones. It can be used as a cancer therapy and also has anti-inflammatory properties. Milldurone inhibits tumor growth, skin tumor development, and skin tumor formation in mice. This drug also possesses chemopreventive activity against chemical carcinogenesis, which may be related to its ability to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. Milldurone is biosynthesized through a number of steps involving the conversion of isoflavones to the methoxylated form and then the addition of a prenyl group. These steps are catalyzed by enzymes such as usaramensis, which converts isoflavones into chalcones via oxidative cleavage and hydroxylation.
