Descrizione

Malabaricone C is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the group of phenylacetic acid esters. It can be found in the etoac extract, which is a plant extract from the Malabar region of India. Malabaricone C has shown to have an effect on chronic oral inflammation in humans and has been shown to modulate energy metabolism, as well as inhibit locomotor activity. This compound also has been shown to have anti-toxic effects in animal studies by reducing hepatic steatosis and inhibiting oral pathogens. The IUPAC name for this compound is 3-(2′-hydroxyethyl)-2,2′-dimethylpropanoic acid.
