Descrizione

Umbelliprenin is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells. It interacts with the mitochondrial membrane and affects the mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to apoptosis. Umbelliprenin also inhibits the expression of Mcl-1, a protein involved in the apoptosis pathway. This drug is found in natural sources such as plants and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and inhibit tumor progression in animal models of cancer. Umbelliprenin may serve as a biomarker for disease activity and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification for detecting cancer cells.
