Descrizione:PBD is a synthetic, long-acting, and potent anticancer agent. It has been shown to have potent antitumor activity against many human cancer cell lines. PBD binds to the ATP binding site of the enzyme DNA topoisomerase II, which prevents it from untwisting the DNA helix and leads to cell death. This binding also inhibits the synthesis of RNA, protein, and lipids in cells. PBD has been shown to be effective against skin cancer cells and pediatric carcinoma cell lines. The long-term efficacy of PBD was demonstrated in a study on mice with colon cancer. PBD is currently undergoing phase 1 clinical trials for its potential as an anticancer agent and has been shown to be safe for humans at low doses.
