Anagrelide hydrochloride monohydrate is a synthetic drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and myeloproliferative disorder. It is also used as a prophylactic agent for thromboembolic disorders. Anagrelide hydrochloride monohydrate is used to prevent complications when patients are undergoing surgery, or are at risk for developing deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism. The dosage range is usually between 0.2mg/kg and 1mg/kg, with an average dose of 0.5 mg/kg. In some cases, doses may be increased to 2 mg/kg, if needed.
