PX 20350 is a small molecule inhibitor of autophagy. It binds to the ATP-binding site on the ATP synthase, blocking the synthesis of ATP and inhibiting autophagy. PX 20350 has been shown to inhibit cell growth in vitro and in vivo, with selectivity for cancer cells. In addition, PX 20350 induces apoptosis by inhibiting the activity of epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptors. The results of this study show that PX 20350 is a potent inhibitor of tyrosine kinases and provides a new therapeutic strategy for cancer treatment.
