<p>Methyltriphenylphosphine bromide is a chemical inhibitor that binds to the active site of mitochondrial enzymes, disrupting their function. It has been shown to be a potent chemical inhibitor of congestive heart failure in an electrochemical impedance spectroscopy study. Methyltriphenylphosphine bromide may also inhibit the production of antimicrobial peptides by interfering with the activity of proteases and lipases. This drug could be used for the treatment of metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus or obesity. Methyltriphenylphosphine bromide is not effective against vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) or methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).</p>
