Product Information
The deposition of a-synuclein (a-syn) fibrils in Lewy bodies is a characteristic feature of individuals with neurodegenerative disorders. The central hydrophobic region of a-synuclein, resembled by the peptide a-synuclein (71-82), is believed to be responsible for the protein aggregation. In addition, a-synuclein (71-82) forms amyloid fibrils of similar morphology to a-synuclein, suggesting that this region contributes to the fibrillogenic core of the full-length protein, referring to the studies of Madine and coworkers.
