It has been shown that Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Phe-SBzl can be used as a diagnostic tool for pancreatic cancer, because it is found in higher concentrations in the blood of patients with pancreatic cancer. This peptide also has an affinity for metal ions, which allows it to be used as a probe to detect the presence of these ions in solution. Suc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Phe-SBzl binds to human immunoglobulin G (IgG) and can be used in analytical methods that use x ray diffraction data.</p>
