<p>2-(Benzyloxy)phenol is a diphenyl ether that is an ester of salicylic acid. It has been shown to be degradable, which may be due to the presence of a carbonyl group, and also binds to cells in culture. 2-(Benzyloxy)phenol has been shown to inhibit skin cancer in animals and possesses antioxidant properties. This compound may have potential for use as an animal health agent for prevention or treatment of diseases such as dermatitis, dermatophilosis, neoplasia, and other conditions related to the skin.</p>
