Product Information
2-Bromo-1-(4-(isopropylsulfonyl)phenyl)ethanone is a solvate that can be prepared manually or by heating to tautomerization. It has been shown to inhibit the activation of macrophages, which are cells that engulf foreign material. This compound also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines and arachidonic acid in an animal model of autoimmune disease. 2-Bromo-1-(4-(isopropylsulfonyl)phenyl)ethanone has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells and induce apoptosis in a dose dependent manner. The mechanism for this activity is not known, but may involve inhibition of rheumatoid arthritis by blocking the peracid transporter or inhibition of pyrimidine compounds.
