Voruciclib hydrochloride is a selective inhibitor of the proteasome that has been shown to inhibit the production of cancer-causing proteins. It inhibits the activity of both cysteine and aspartyl proteases in the human proteasome. Voruciclib hydrochloride has been shown to be effective against breast, lung, prostate, and colon cancers. This drug is also an antiviral agent that can inhibit coronavirus replication. Voruciclib hydrochloride is used for treatment of malignant tumors due to its ability to inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis in a number of cell lines. This drug has also been shown to be effective against SARS-CoV, which is a type of coronavirus.
