Product Information
Argininosuccinic acid disodium (ASA) is a naturally occurring amino acid that has been synthetically modified for use as a research tool. It binds to ligand-gated ion channels, which are found in the membranes of nerve cells and other excitable tissues. When ASA binds to its receptor, it opens the ion channel, allowing ions to cross the membrane. These ions then cause an electrical current to flow through the cell. ASA is also used as an antibody labeling agent and a reagent in cell biology studies.
