The inhibitory factor for this reaction is paraformaldehyde and yields are determined by the reactant used. 3,4-Dihydrobenzo[e][1,3]oxazin-2-one has a heterocyclic ring containing a nitrogen atom and a potassium atom. The human body metabolizes this compound into thiocyanate which is excreted in urine.
