6-Phenyl-1-hexene is an organic compound in the class of vinyl ethers. It is an activated cross-coupling reagent that can be used to synthesize a variety of compounds. The reaction with styrene and aldehydes results in copolymerization, whereas the trimerization reaction occurs with three equivalents of styrene. This product is analogous to 1,4-dioxane, but has higher reactivity and lower toxicity. 6-Phenyl-1-hexene can also be used for oxidation reactions such as the conversion of alcohols into aldehydes or ketones.
