OAKB is a peptide that is derived from the Alzheimer's disease-associated amyloid precursor protein. It has been shown to inhibit the formation of amyloid beta (Aβ) oligomers, which are toxic to nerve cells and thought to be one of the causes of Alzheimer's disease. OAKB also binds to antibodies and can be used as a research tool in immunology, cell biology, pharmacology, and life sciences. OAKB has been shown to inhibit ion channels and receptors, making it an interesting candidate for drug development. OAKB hydrochloride is high purity (>99%) with an inhibitor concentration of 2 mM.
