Racecadotril is an anti-secretory enkephalinase inhibitor that is used in the treatment of diarrhea. This drug works by inhibiting the enzyme enkephalinase. As a result of this, this drug helps to reduce excess fluid and electrolyte loss from the intestines thereby decreasing the severity of diarrhea.
