Product Information
Tetraethylsulfamide is a radiopharmaceutical that is used in the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. It is an analog of dopamine and binds to dopamine receptors on the surface of nerve cells, inhibiting the uptake of dopamine. The binding properties are determined by the transition state. Tetraethylsulfamide has been shown to bind to fluoride ions, which may be due to electrostatic attraction between these oppositely charged ions. This drug also has an effect on surface properties, as it changes the surface potentials and impedes electron flow across the cell membrane.
