CB-13 is a sample preparation reagent that can be used to isolate and purify DNA. It has been shown that CB-13 binds to calcium and high molecular weight dextran sulfate, which may have contributed to the high values obtained in the locomotor activity assay. CB-13 also appears to have a transcriptional regulatory effect on the promoter for fatty acid binding protein 5 (FABP5). The effects of CB-13 on receptor knockout cells were studied in an effort to elucidate its biochemical properties. The results show that it is a particle with fatty acids, which are natural compounds that are involved in many biochemical processes.
