Product Information
4-(tert-Butyl)-2-phenylpyridine (BPP) is a ligand that forms complexes with palladium metal. It has been used in the synthesis of organometallic compounds, such as catalytic converters for automobiles and dicarbonyl compounds. BPP can also be used to synthesize new pharmaceuticals, such as anticancer agents. This compound is an axial ligand that binds to the palladium atom by a single bond and has a transferability of 2.5 electron pairs. The BPP molecule has two hydroxo groups that form a carbanion on the axial site and a congener group at the equatorial position.
