4-(1,3-Benzothiazol-2-yl)-2-methylaniline is a reactive compound that has been shown to have anticancer activity in breast cells and to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. 4-(1,3-Benzothiazol-2-yl)-2-methylaniline has been tested for its antitumour activity in human ovarian carcinoma cell lines. It has shown cytosolic uptake, which may be due to its ability to cross the membrane through passive diffusion or active transport. In addition, it inhibits DNA synthesis and causes cell death by inhibiting protein synthesis and disrupting nucleic acid metabolism.
