Ethyl 6-bromo-4-chloro-7-fluoroquinoline-3-carboxylate (EBCFQ) is a potent inhibitor of the DNA topoisomerase II enzyme. It has been shown to have antitumor potential in human cancer cell lines and in mice bearing subcutaneous or xenograft tumors. EBCFQ inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species, which are involved in cellular proliferation and apoptosis. The oral bioavailability of this drug has been found to be 100%.
