Description:
The invention relates to a new fluorescent reagent for the detection of phospholipids, in particular inositols, which is suitable for both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The reagent is based on a novel fluorogenic substrate that reacts with phospholipids to produce a fluorescent product. The method is simple and rapid, giving results within minutes. It can be used for the detection of phospholipids in culture media, food products and environmental samples.
