Ribavirin-13C2 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the human erythrocyte membrane protein band 3. The amino acid sequence of this protein is known and has been determined by a number of techniques, including NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography. This antibody has been shown to inhibit ion channels, such as potassium and sodium channels, in mammalian cells. Ribavirin-13C2 has also been used as a research tool to study protein interactions, receptor activation, and inhibition.
