It has been shown to be an excellent alternative to the more commonly used 4,5′,6,7,8,-Tetrabromoindoxyl 3′,5′,6′,-tetraacetic acid (TBA). This product is also used as a chromogenic substrate for the determination of phenols in environmental testing and as a ligand conjugate for immunohistochemistry staining.
