Description:

3-Amino-2,4-dimethylpyridine is a β-cyclodextrin derivative that has been shown to stabilize radical polymerization. It can be used to produce polymers and copolymers with supramolecular, unimolecular, and micellar properties. 3-Amino-2,4-dimethylpyridine can be synthesized by the reaction of 2,4-dimethylaniline with cyclohexane diacetic acid in the presence of a base. The product is soluble in water and forms hydrophilic micelles. 3-Amino-2,4-dimethylpyridine can also be used as a moiety in transition metal complexes or in supramolecular chemistry to form polymers or copolymers with various properties.
