H-Asp-Gln-OH is a hormone that belongs to the group of peptides and proteins. It is secreted by the adrenal glands, pancreas, and gastrointestinal tract. H-Asp-Gln-OH has been shown to exhibit chronic kidney disease related effects in animal studies. The effect of this hormone on the renal system may be due to its ability to cause an increase in blood pressure and decrease in renal blood flow. H-Asp-Gln-OH also has been shown to be involved in sleep regulation, with an increased frequency of occurrence at night time. This hormone is metabolized through a number of metabolic reactions, including oxidation by peroxidases or cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione reductase or cytochrome b5 reductase, or hydrolysis by esterases or glucuronidases. These metabolites are then excreted into the urine as free amino acids, glycosides
