Description:
4-Amino-3-nitrobenzamidine is a proapoptotic agent. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in the human leukemia cell line K562. The mechanism of apoptosis induction may be due to 4-Amino-3-nitrobenzamidine binding to Bcl2, a protein that regulates the mitochondrial membrane potential and prevents programmed cell death. This compound also has anticancer effects on chronic myelogenous leukemia cells and can kill k562 cells by apoptosis.
