Product Information
A-1331852 is a small molecule that induces apoptosis in cells. It binds to the bcr-abl kinase, which is a pro-apoptotic protein, and inhibits its activity. A-1331852 has been shown to be effective in chronic exposure and senescent models of autoimmune disease. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of an HIV gene in vivo. A-1331852 also induces apoptosis of cancer cells that are resistant to imatinib. The mechanism of action is unknown but may involve inhibition of DNA synthesis or activation of caspases.
