D-2-Aminobutyric acid tert-butyl ester hydrochloride is a potent, selective, and orally available inhibitor of the human enzyme that converts D-2-amino butyric acid to gamma-aminobutyric acid. This discovery has been shown to have potent inhibitory activity in vitro against a number of different targets. The inhibition of this enzyme may be beneficial for the treatment of neurological disorders such as epilepsy.
