Description:

4-Amino-2-fluoro-5-methoxybenzoic acid (AFMB) is a potent inhibitor of protein kinases, including tyrosine and serine/threonine kinases. It is selective for the inhibition of tumor cell growth and has been shown to be more potent than ro3280, which is another potential lead compound. AFMB inhibits the activity of a number of kinases, including PKCα, PKCδ, PKCε, PKCβII, PAK1, PAK2, Raf-1 kinase, and Src tyrosine kinase. This agent also inhibits proliferation in xenograft mouse models and has been shown to have antitumor activity in vitro.
