- 3-Bromo-2,6-difluorobenzoic acid
3-Bromo-2,6-difluorobenzoic acid is an electrophilic compound that can be deprotonated to form a reactive intermediate. It reacts as a nucleophile towards organic compounds and in the presence of butyllithium, it can react with hexane to produce 3,3-dimethylindole. This reactivity has been used in the synthesis of other organometallic compounds such as fluorine analogs of alkyl or aryl iodides. 3-Bromo-2,6-difluorobenzoic acid has also been used as an intermediate for the preparation of amines from ammonia and substituted benzoic acids.
